  • Herbert Clark Hoover, né le 10 août 1874 et mort le 20 octobre 1964, est un homme politique américain, qui fut le 31 président des États-Unis, de 1929 à 1933. Lorsque Hoover est élu, l’économie est relativement florissante et l’optimisme règne. Quelques mois plus tard, la bourse de New York s’écroule et la Grande Dépression commence. Hoover tente sans grand succès d’y mettre fin et se retrouve seul désigné responsable de la catastrophe économique.
