  • Sir Moses Haïm Montefiore (Livourne, 24 octobre 1784 – Ramsgate, 28 juillet 1885), 1er baronnet, fut l'un des plus célèbres juifs anglais du XIXe siècle, à l'instar de Benjamin Disraeli. Philanthrope, Montefiore fut un grand financier qui devint shérif de Londres et fut fait baronnet Montefiore de l'île de Thanet (Kent), en 1846.
